WEEK 2

DISCUSSION B- OFFSHORING: WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?

DISCUSSION

Offshoring is a controversial topic. It can lower the costs of goods but also puts us at risk of long supply chains. Many feel that offshoring exports jobs overseas. What is your position on offshoring? Make your case either for or against offshoring. Should companies embrace offshoring, and under what circumstance(s)? Is offshoring something to be avoided? Is it possible it is not an absolute either/or decision? Research and consider the benefits and costs of offshoring to individuals, companies, and the economy to develop your position.

In your responses to your peers, consider whether you agree or disagree with their position on this topic. Can you expand on what they’ve said or offer additional resources about this topic? Given that this can be a controversial topic, only respectful posts and responses will be tolerated.
